Obituary of John George Nowotny
John George Nowotny passed away on November 17, 2015 after a long fight with cancer. John was born Jan Jurek Nowotny on October 23, 1949 in Ludwigsburg, Germany to Kazimiercz and Maria Nowotny. As a toddler, John immigrated with his parents and two siblings to the United States. The family settled in Arkansas and later in Michigan. After high school, John served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany and Vietnam. After his service, he attended Central Michigan University, then moved from Washing State to Tucson, Arizona, where he attended the University of Arizona for his undergraduate degree and graduate studies in English Literature. John made his career in technical publishing as a writer and editor for Allied-Signal Aerospace (now Honeywell) and later as a publications project manager for IBM's Storage Products Division. He is survived by his wife, Michele of 25 years. His siblings include brothers, Henry, Robert, George, Fred, Frank and Tom and sisters, Irene and Rosemary and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his eldest sister, Susan. John will be missed by his many human and animal friends. Enormous gratitude to the doctors and staff at Peppi's House (TMC Hospice) for their excellent care and extensive kindness during John's last weeks.
