Obituary of Michael Griffin

Michael Griffin age 71, passed away November 14, 2015. Beloved son of Margaret and Robert Griffin; loving husband of Vickie Griffin, and father of Katherine Griffin, died peacefully with loved ones by his side at his home in Tucson, Arizona after a several year battle with cancer. Michael was born in Washington DC April 30, 1944, and grew up with his two older brothers, Tom and Bob. He graduated from Fairfield University in Connecticut with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He then returned to get his Master's Degree in Finance from the University of Arizona. Michael worked in the banking business for 35 years. He held a position at CDT for twelve years before ending his professional career as the Credit Manager at Flouresco Lighting and Sign in 2014. Michael is survived by his two brothers, Tom Griffin and his wife Mary Pat of Duluth, Minnesota, and Bob Griffin of Kenneth City, Florida Michael was a faithful member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Parish where he attended mass every Sunday. He enjoyed golf and was a member of Oro Valley Country Club for 27 years. He was a loving family man whose life was centered around his faith. Michael leaves behind a legacy of honesty, integrity and laughter and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel. A reception will follow at Reforma, 4310 N Campbell Ave, Saint Philip's Plaza, AZ 85718 immediately following the service, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Avalon Chapel.
