Obituary of Stephen Morgan Richards
Lt. Col. Stephen Morgan Richards was born in Kansas City, on August 7, 1942 and passed away into God's hands on October 3, 2015. He was the son of Hugh and Suzanne Richards. Stephen left behind his wife of 52 years, Gale Seaman Richards; two daughters, Suzanne Richards Nash and Stephanie Richards Black along with six grandchildren, John Black, T.J. Black, Jamie Black, Morgan Nash, Madi Nash, and Abi Nash all members of Team Richards made up of family in both Arizona and Missouri. Steve graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in mathematics. He retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of service. In the Air Force he spent tours of duty in Omaha, Nebraska, Washington D.C. (Pentagon), Houston (Johnson Space Center), TX, and Vandenberg AFB, CA. During the last half of his career (in Houston and Vandenburg AFB) he contributed significantly to the Air Force space program. Steve was an active member of the Desert Kiwanis Club and spent many hours working with the Wright Flight program, the Marana High School Key Club and the Oro Valley Country Club where he made a hole-in-one. Special thanks go to Dr. Stephen Liao and his staff for their committed care and the Casa de la Luz Hospice for their excellent service during Steve's last days. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Satuarday, October 24, 2015 at the Church of the Apostles Episcopal Church, 12111 N. La Cholla Blvd., Oro Valley, AZ.
