Obituary of Betty Marian Tidrick
Betty Marian Tidrick 90, passed away September 17, 2015 in Tucson, AZ. She was born April 19, 1925 in Rural Valley, PA to J.R. and Dorothy M. (Boyer) Triplett and lived in Pennsylvania and New York before moving with her family at age six to Spokane, WA. Betty was a graduate of Lewis and Clark High School and attended Holy Names College. She married Carlton "Cal" Tidrick in June 1945, and during their 66 years of marriage the couple lived in Seward, AK and Tucson as well as in Spokane, Moses Lake, Pasco, North Bend, Colfax and Colville, WA. Betty was an enthusiastic "joiner" and over the years volunteered with her church, her children's schools, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, the American Red Cross, the Community Chest, and the Providence Mount Carmel Hospital Auxiliary, and was also a member of the Daughters of the Nile. She was an avid bridge player and fabulous cook, enjoyed china painting and swimming, and never let her golf game spoil a nice walk. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by a sister, Nancy Koenig (Tom) of Torrance, CA; three children, Patrick Tidrick of Woodlands, CA, James Tidrick (Vivian) of Wallace, ID, Rebecca Tidrick Cook (Kevin Beringer) of Tucson; and four grandchildren, Katherine Tidrick of Woodlands, CA, Marissa Tidrick of Sacramento, CA, Carlton Cook of Tucson and Joshua Cook of Portland, OR. Graveside services will be held at Riverside Memorial Park in Spokane on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. As her sight failed in later years, Betty's lifeline was classical music and a weekly date with a Prairie Home Companion. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in support of your local NPR station. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
