Obituary of Brad Pearson
Brad Pearson
Brad died Sept 25 at the age of 63. He was born April 2, 1952 in Stamford, Connecticut. He was the son of Margarita and the late Milton Pearson. Brad went to high school at Stamford High, followed by college at Sacred Heart University. A very spiritual man, Brad studied theology and translated the New Testament from Hellenistic Greek into English! He earned a degree in Philosophy and Urban Planning.
In the late 1970's he did stand-up comedy open mike skits at the Improv in NYC working on the same stage with Richard Belzer, Rosie O'Donnell and Kevin Nealon (a college classmate). He did this while he attended the Art Students League of New York and worked several years as a commercial artist.
In the 1980's he moved to Tucson and worked at University Hospital for 16 years in Materials Management, then worked in Medical Sales until he retired. After "retiring" he started painting again and worked at Rancho Sin Vacas Gate house where he thoroughly enjoyed meeting and greeting so many of the residents who became his friends.
Brad was a man of many talents and interests. In the early 70's he was a senate campaign manager, worked while attending U of A doing staging and lighting for the Tucson Symphony Orchestra (which was a great source of his funny stories). He was also an avid scuba diver and naturalist. He did bird-banding in Sabino Canyon, did Wildlife rehabilitation in Tucson with raptors and small animals and loved traveling, dolphin and whale watching with his wife Laurie.
There are so many words to describe Brad - Warm, Funny, Generous, Kind, and Adventurous. With his friends Jos, Mark, and Rick they were Tucson's own JAMES BONDs ! Wherever Brad went, his wit and humor made everyone laugh and just feel better being with him.
He is survived by his wife Laurie of 14 years, his mother Margarita, sister Loyalty Ferrara & her husband Doug, his nieces Amanda and Mariel, grand niece Eva Grace, grand nephew Carter John, brother Dain Pearson, and many dear friends.
