Obituary of William Ike Stern

William Ike Stern passed away on September 23, 2015, joining his parents and brothers, Walter "Chip" and Michael, in heaven. William is survived by Kathleen Stern; their daughters, Jennifer and Lauren Stern; his aunt, Patricia Stein and niece and nephews, Christopher, Stephanie and Mitchell Stern, with whom he shared a very special bond. He will be deeply missed by his six cousins, including: Patricia (Kenny) August, William (Karen) Stein Jr., and Ken (Cindy) Stein, with whom he was raised; his 15 nieces and nephews and six grand-nieces and nephews, including Erica and Joanna August and Melissa, Jennifer, and Alex Stein. Bill was born in Chicago on January 17, 1959 to Walter and Geraldine Stern. Following the passing of his parents, he and his brothers moved to California where they were raised by his Aunt Patricia and Uncle Bill Stein. After beginning his college career in Eugene, Oregon, Bill moved to Tucson in 1981 to join his brothers and graduated from the UofA in 1983. He married Kathy Cleary in 1988 in Tucson where they raised their two daughters. Like his father, he was an entrepreneur who helped build many successful businesses. Bill loved many things in life: family, friends, golf, and travel were among the highlights. He loved the Tucson community and spent time volunteering and cheering on the UofA. He is loved, appreciated, and missed dearly. Buddies forever. Services will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at St Thomas Church.
