Obituary of Bruce Anthony Ferguson
Bruce Anthony Ferguson 60, passed away peacefully in his sleep from a heart arrhythmia on Monday, August 24, 2015. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dawn Gunter, by his greatest joy, his children: Stacie Ferguson Riggs (Bryan Riggs), Eric Ferguson, Dante Lo Greco, and Thomas Lo Greco, and by his niece and nephews, whom he loved like his own children. Bruce cherished his extended family and friends whom he treated like family, taking an avid interest in their lives. Bruce graduated from Sahauro High School in 1973, playing baseball at Sahuaro under coach Hal Eustice, who was an instrumental part to his success in baseball and life. Bruce went on to attend Yavapai College, where he competed on the Junior College World Series championship team. He proudly pitched in the College World Series as a Wildcat, where he got the win against Clemson, and the team went on to win the 1976 College World Series. Bruce played with the Mets for two years before returning to his beloved hometown of Tucson, where he had a successful career in finance and built Ferguson Investment Services. Along the way he coached, nurtured, mentored, and touched many lives with his characteristic warmth, his caring nature, and his signature sense of humor. He had an unparalleled love of sports, shown in his coaching of his son Eric and daughter Stacie in baseball and golf. He was instrumental in bringing Girls Junior Golf to Tucson. He was a life member of the Tucson Conquistadores and was deeply committed to their charitable purpose of involving kids in sports. Bruce loved his family and friends more than anything in this world, and expressed his love, kindness and gratitude to those around him daily. When he wasn't in the office he could be found on the golf course, playing the game he loved so very much, with his friends he cherished so deeply. He will be greatly missed. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at La Paloma. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Avalon Chapel.
