Hunter Miller

Obituary of Hunter Douglas Miller

Hunter Douglas Miller Hunter was born in Tucson, Arizona April 1994 to Michael Douglas Miller and Jennifer Louise Hunter Miller. Hunter passed away on August 11, 2015, barely 21 years of age, doing what he loved to do, being with his friends at Tanque Verde Falls. Hunter grew up in Tucson and graduated in 2012 from Salpointe Catholic High School. He was an excellent athlete and played on the Varsity Baseball and Golf teams all four years. At the time of his death he was attending the University of Arizona, pursuing a degree in agriculture, which he loved. The outpouring of condolences and support from Hunter's friends, our friends, his teachers and coaches is so extensive it gives us tremendous comfort, as our eyes fill with tears while we suffer this incomprehensible loss of such a wonderful young man and our only child. Facebook posts and other social media are so numerous we cannot now read them all. We will read every one and take comfort in the fact that our son touched so many lives. We would like to embrace with our warmest regards all of Hunter's and our friends' offers of assistance and help as we heal from this terrible shock. We wish to extend special thanks to the Pima County Sheriff's Department and Search and Rescue in their efforts to save Hunter, braving extremely dangerous weather conditions long after they should have sought safety for themselves. Hunter loved Tucson and the surrounding desert and in particular Redington Pass where he hiked and camped, sat out by a campfire with his friends underneath the stars and heavens. He especially enjoyed being with his parents, even though he was 21 years old, when he had many other things that he could have done with his army of friends. We shall always treasure his sweet voice calling and his texts to say "I love you Mom" or "I love you Dad", just because he felt like it. Hunter, with his Hollywood good looks, was so kind, a wonderful listener, great friend, and dearly loved by all who were lucky enough to spend time with him. His humor was infectious and ever present. He was an Arizona cowboy, loved country music, his big red truck, fishing and country roads. His second home was in Kansas at his Grandparents' farm where he loved fishing and camping with his extended family and friends. Hunter is survived by his parents Jennifer Louise Hunter Miller and Michael Douglas Miller; his grandfather, Robert F. Miller; numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins throughout the United States, all of whom miss him terribly. Preceded in death by his dearly loved Grandmother, Marian B. Hunter; Grandfather, D. Dwight Hunter and his Grandmother, Mary E. Miller. We will celebrate Hunter's life in a Memorial Service with reception to follow on Thursday August 20, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Philips in the Hills at the Northeast Corner of River Road and Campbell. We look forward to reuniting with all who knew and loved him. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.
