Obituary of Dorothy Umbach
Dorothy Umbach joined her Lord and Savior on July 27, 2015 at the age of 89.
Born in New Albany, IN on December 6, 1925. Parents George and Bessie Canter. Baptized in February 1926 at St Paul's Episcopal Church in New Albany, IN. Joined Grace Lutheran Church in December, 1944. Married Earl L. Umbach on June 1, 1962. Had 5 children from her first marriage to Earl W. Troutman, Jr.: Donna Jeanne, Marc Andrew, Paul Allen, Rebecca Jo and David Lee.
Served her Lord at Grace Lutheran Church as Secretary and Treasurer of the LWML, also active in the choir, Martha Circle, Sunshine Circle, chairman of the Crisis Prayer Chain, and active in the Helping Hands group.
Worked at the L&N Railroad, Census Bureau, Armed Forces Examining Station and the Internal Revenue Service.
Moved to Tucson, AZ on August 11, 1991. Joined The Lutheran Church of the Ascension. Served her Lord as Chairman of the Altar Guild, Leader in Living Way Bible Study Classes, and Chairman of the Prayer Circle. Transferred her membership to Fountain of Life Lutheran Church January 2004.
Preceded in death by her husband, Earl L. Umbach, Tucson, AZ; parents George H. and Bessie Mae Canter and her sister Ellen Jeannette Canter, all of New Albany, IN.

Her grandchildren: Karl Kuehner, Jr. (Jeanpaul), Jacksonville, FL, Jane Troutman Mayberry, New Albany, IN; David W. Bauer (Tara), Lino Lakes, MN; Larry Dewald, Jacksonville, FL; Jodie Leigh Dewald, Jacksonville, FL.
Great grandchildren: Jordan Holbrook, New Albany, IN, Nathan, Taylor and Jacob Dewald, Jacksonville, FL; CJ & Shelby, Jacksonville, FL, Kellie Bauer, Lino Lakes, MN and Karah Weatherholtz, Arkansas
Great-great grandchildren: Jaylen Boyd, Clarksville, IN
Arrangements by Adair Funeral Home. Memorial Service at Fountain of Life Lutheran Church on August 1 and internment in Ascension Lutheran Church Memorial Gardens.
