Obituary of Frank Casanova
Frank Casanova A native Tucsonan, 93, passed away May 19, 2015. Born to Francisco Casanova and Mary Maguire Casanova in 1922, Mr. Casanova started his 40 year career with Tucson Newspapers at the age of ten, rising from selling the Arizona Daily Star and The Tucson Daily Citizen on street corners, to become TNI's Circulation Director. He earned many sales awards during that time and in the early 60's he was honored with his election as president of the National Circulation Manager's Association. Frank will be remembered for providing many people with employment in his department, and many with their first job. Later, he became a vice-president for Western Savings & Loan. During WWII, he joined the Army Air Corp, flying B-25s. He was also known as a top softball pitching ace, playing for many teams, including the Tucson Elks Club, where he was a member. An excellent golfer, he was a founding member of 49er Country Club. He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Christine, who was the mother of his three children, Frank Casanova, Jr., Fred Casanova, both of Sacramento, Calif., and Patrick Casanova of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is also survived by his wife, Sandy Casanova, and numerous nieces and nephews. A remembrance service will be held. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
