Obituary of June Eileen Jones

JONES, June Eileen Was born on March 26, 1925 and went to join her husband in heaven on April 24, 2015 at the age of 90. June was born in Mahomet, Illinois to Lottie (Maxwell) and John McKinney. She graduated from Champaign High School in 1944. After graduation she worked for Alloy Casting Company and later on the University of Illinois Press. She met her husband Byron at a USO function. After their marriage in 1952 they lived in Rantoul, Illinois; Spokane, Washington; Valdosta, Georgia; Waco, Texas; Ankara, Turkey and Dayton, Ohio. After her husband's retirement from the Air Force they settled in Tucson, Arizona in 1970. June was a member of East Tucson Baptist Church, and later on, Sahuaro Baptist Church. She enjoyed the white wing doves and many squirrels that inhabited her backyard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron and two sons, Stephen and John. She is survived by one son, David M. Jones, of Mesa, Arizona. She will be cherished forever and missed every day by her family and friends. A Memorial Service is planned for 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Sahuaro Baptist Church.
