Obituary of Ronald Andre Van De Voorde

Ronald Andre Van De Voorde 85, died Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Northwest Medical Center. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet Van De Voorde of Tucson; his sons, Steven, of Waverly, New York and Andrew, of Denver, Colorado; his grandsons, Nicholas Van De Voorde and Philip Van De Voorde; his granddaughter, Zoe Van De Voorde and his daughters-in-law, Pauline Van De Voorde and Melissa Van De Voorde. Born in Fairfield, Iowa in 1929, he graduated from Parson College of Fairfield and received his master's degree from the University of Washington. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. A lifelong lover of classical music and terrier dogs, Ronald was a professor of library science at the University of Arizona for 25 years, touching the lives of hundreds of students by sharing his love for children's literature. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, 3:30 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd., Tucson, AZ.
