Obituary of Robert Eugene Jones

Robert Eugene "Bob" Jones, 80, passed away April 7, 2015 in Tucson Arizona. He was born in 1935 in Tularosa, New Mexico to Stella and Albert Jones. He had three brothers and four sisters. Bob graduated as valedictorian of Tularosa High School in 1953 and joined the United States Armed Forces shortly after. He met Nancy Roach in Chicago Illinois and they eloped with friends in 1959. They have three children. Bob graduated from New Mexico State University in 1968 with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. He worked as a civil engineer and Chief of Operations for the Bureau of Land Management Agency in Safford and then in Phoenix, Arizona where he retired in 1997. Bob enjoyed country music, billiards, golf and just about any kind of game. Mostly, he enjoyed his family. He was a true family man. Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy, sons, Ben (Liz) Jones and Tim (Chrissy) Jones, both of Tucson, Arizona, daughter, Shelley (Scott) Jackson of Chandler Arizona, brother, Elvin (Wanda) Jones of Ruidoso, New Mexico, sisters, Beth Wright of Tucson, Arizona and Lavonne Robertson of Tularosa, New Mexico. He has 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
