Obituary of Carolyn Goetz Heilman

Carolyn Goetz Heilman passed away in Tucson, AZ, on April 1, 2015, at the age of 99. Born on January 20, 1916 in Naperville, IL, she graduated from North Central College in 1938, as did her future husband, Herbert W. Heilman. Carolyn and Herb were married on December 27, 1940. They later made a home in Batavia, IL, where they raised their two children, Richard and Nancy. In addition to family, Carolyn enjoyed traveling and entertaining, which she did often in support of her husband's work with the Loyal Order of Moose. In the early '90s, Herb and Carolyn moved to Tucson, AZ, where Herb passed away in 1994. Carolyn later met Howard Kercher, who became a special companion until his death in 2004. Those who knew Carolyn will long remember her graciousness, integrity and generosity, as well as her gift of hospitality. She is survived by her son, Richard (Sandra) Heilman and daughter, Nancy (Larry) Fetgatter; her five grandchildren, Kelley (Phil) Gruca, Mark (Albert Sanchez) Fetgatter, Jason Fetgatter, Tim Heilman and Karlyn Heilman and a great-grandson, Jeremy Gruca.
