Obituary of Lillian Joan McClure

McCLURE, Lillian Joan "Jo" Spurgeon. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away on March 13, 2015 (after a courageous battle with cancer). Survived by her loving husband Jerry; her children, Michael (Gayle), Tony; seven grandchildren whom she adored, Kristin (Michael) Shafer, Reed, Kassie (Maggie), Luke, Saylor, Jared, Salomé and two great- grandchildren, Michael and Will. Preceeded in death by her son Johnny. She was born on August 18, 1936 in Bloomfield, Iowa where she had fond memories growing up as the youngest Spurgeon girl. Jo loved to travel, play golf, and tennis with her best friend, husband Jerry, of 59 years. Their favorite times were spent attending softball and baseball games, wrestling tournaments, and cross country meets all over the country in support of their grandkids. Her beautiful home was always the destination where family and friends gathered for celebrations or to just spend time together. Her gift of making a warm and welcoming home will truly be missed by all. Memorial Services will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in the Sanctuary located at 7575 N Paseo Del Norte on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Blue Sky Fitness & Recreation (a Program for children and adults with disabilities) 1387 E Grant Road, Tucson AZ 85719; or Special Olympics.
