Obituary of Dana Christina Morgan

Our beloved Dana Christina Morgan passed away on January 22, 2015, at the tender age of 10, surrounded by family. In her short time with us she filled our hearts and those of everyone she met with immeasurable love and laughter. Known to many as "Dananator", because of her champion spirit and contagious energy, she was always ready to share a hug, greet you with a high-five, and make everyone laugh with great one-liners delivered with perfect comedic timing. Seldom seen without her trusted companion Swimmy the dolphin, Dana also held great love for animals. She cherished spending time with her brother as they cooked international-themed dinners for family staycations, experimented with new craft projects, explored nature during outdoor adventures, engaged in serious video game competitions and, of course, devised practical jokes and pranks. Dana also enjoyed swimming, painting, organizing festive family gatherings, and spending cuddle time with mom and dad. In addition to enjoying her time at school with wonderful friends and teachers, Dana was an avid sports fan and especially fond of her University of Arizona Wildcats. She played basketball, golf and baseball, and was a proud member of the Coronado Little League AA Division Spring 2014 Championship team. Dana had a love for music, played saxophone for the school band, and enjoyed making melodies with her electric guitar and drum set at home. Dana loved the Lord and found great joy in having Bible stories read to her in the evenings. She shared her deep faith with others as an altar server for Sunday liturgies at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, and by creating hand-made beaded rosaries. She was taken from us far too soon, and there are no words to express how deeply she will be missed. Her spunky, funny, loving, and generous spirit will live in our hearts and the memory of her will last forever. For one so little, she taught and inspired so many. Rest in peace our sweet angel. Dana is survived by her parents Michelle (née Girard) and Scott, cherished brother Sean, adored grandmother Gloria Girard, beloved aunts and uncles Gloria and Rick Gdovin and Julie and Joseph Ely, revered godfather Michael Blishak and treasured cousins Jacob and Samantha Gdovin and Jennifer, Justin and Joseph Jr. Ely. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Rev. Mr. Charles Girard and paternal grandparents Stanley and Gwen Morgan.
