Obituary of PETER HAZARD DOUGLAS

Peter Hazard Douglas Peter Douglas, 65 years old, died on Christmas Day of a stroke. He was born on November, 4, 1949 in Tucson, AZ, to James Stewart Douglas and Mary Peace Hazard Douglas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Doogie. He is survived by his life-long love Linda, wife of 33 years, and his two children, Megan, 29 and son, Sumner, 31, (Juliette), who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his sisters, Bronwyn (Walt) and Morgan and nephews, Philip Rosenberg, Neil Rubenstein and David Rubenstein. Peter was proud to be a cowboy who was a fifth generation Arizonan. He was raised on a ranch in Sonoita, AZ, which gave him a profound appreciation for the unique beauty and spirit of the land. He was a founding member of Tucson Greater Leadership, a founding partner and principle of PICOR Commercial Real Estate since 1987, active on the YMCA board for over 10 years, YMCA Chairman 2011-2013, and an active leader and President of Los Charros, a life long passion. Peter will be remembered for turning his keen observations of people into hilarious humor. He was a leader and mentor who embodied kindness, consideration and the possibility of great success. His magnetic presence, gusto for life and love of people will be missed. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Mountain Oyster Club, starting at 10:00 and ending at 2:00 p.m. Donations can be made in his honor to the YMCA of Southern Arizona.
