Obituary of FLORENCE CONNER

Florence (Flo) Conner 2/20/1923 - 12/10/2014 She said, "Don't cry for me-I've had wonderful life". Flo was preceded in death by husbands Lou White and Robert Conner; two children, Robin White and Sharen White, and her grandson, Donald Osburn. She is survived by her children, Robert Osburn, William White (Constance), Micheal White (Theresa), James Waller (Marcia), Susan Coleman, and Susan Osburn-Lockridge (George), 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She raised her family in Wimington, Illinois. The family moved to Tucson in 1963. At age 40 she enrolled at the University of Arizona where she earned a Masters Degree in Special Education, and taught at the Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind. She was active in the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. Flo loved to sing and to perform on stage. She learned to play the ukulele at 90. She performed with the Traveling Hands Troupe and was a dancing granny. She was beautiful, stubborn and demanded much of those she loved. She was a good friend to many. There will be a Memorial Service at St. Francis in the Foothills, 4625 E. River Rd., Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Instead of flowers, you may make a donation to the Arizona Blind and Deaf Children's Foundation, 3957 E.
