Obituary of Marilyn Jo Braun

BRAUN, Marilyn Jo (Poore), passed away October 2, 2014 in Tucson, AZ. She was born November 22, 1931 in Dodge City, KS. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Donald Lee Braun and father and mother, Frank and Josephine (Pizinger) Poore. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Braun, Wilhoit, AZ; her son, Mark Braun (Julie), Tucson, and sisters, Pat and Kay Poore, Tucson. Marilyn graduated from Hoisington, KS, H.S. in 1949 and moved to Tucson in 1958. She and Don were married in 1959. Marilyn worked in insurance for 14 years and was a volunteer for 30+ years with Laubach Literacy, teaching adults to read and teaching ESL. An avid and talented genealogist, she volunteered many years at the Tucson Family History Center. Private Services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Literacy Connects.
