Obituary of Roland Allen Stewart

STEWART, Ronald Allen, was born in Robinson, IL on September 29, 1948 to John and Wanda Stewart. He passed away in Tucson on October 15, 2014 at the age of 66. He is survived by Mary, his loving wife of 38 years. He graduated from Robinson High School in Robinson, IL in 1966. He played baseball, basketball and track and set several school records. He was basketball team captain, selected to Boys All State and held several class offices. He attended Millikin University, Decatur, IL on basketball and scholastic scholarships, was a member and officer of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and earned a B.S. in Economics. After graduation he was employed by the Midwest Stock Exchange where he assumed various positons. He relocated to New York where he became President and CEO of MBS Clearing Corporation and continued in that capacity until his retirement in December 2003. Ron was an avid hunter, skeet shooter and golfer. He was a member of the Lincoln Park Skeet and Trap Club and in 1988 was the Illinois State 12 Gauge Champion. He was a member of the Beacon Hill Country Club in New Jersey and Omni Tucson National. He had a keen mind, a dry sense of humor and was a kind, loving man who treated all he met with respect. He will be remembered by many friends and family who will truly miss him. Among them are his brother, Dan and wife, Karen; two aunts and uncles, two sisters and brothers-in-law, six nieces and nephews, six great-nieces and nephews and two great-great-nieces and nephews. Memorials in Ron's memory can be made to Youth On Their Own or ASPCA. The family extends our thanks to Casa de la Luz Hospice for their compassionate care.
