Obituary of Michael A. Rovedo
Retired Master Sergeant Michael A. Rovedo of Tucson, Arizona, died on August 26, 2014. He was 65. Born in New Bedford, MA, he graduated from the New Bedford Vocational High School and earned associate, bachelor and a master's degrees. Rovedo had 31 years of service with the US Army Military Police. He also served with the Arizona Army National and the Army Reserve. Rovedo had previously served with the US Department of Justice and was retired from the State of Arizona Attorney General's Office. After retiring from the military he was active as an artist and a writer. He was preceded in death by his father, SFC Angelo G. Rovedo (US Army, ret); his mother, Deolinda (Sequira) Rovedo; his sister, Clarice Kaye and his step-daughter, Amanda R. Long. He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter, Gina (and Bryan) Sibbett; and three granddaughters, Morgan, Kieran and Devan Sibbett. Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, AVALON CHAPEL, 8090 N. Northern Ave. Funeral Service with full military honors will follow at 3:00 pm.
