Obituary of Kathleen Winefer

Kathleen Winefer Resident of Tucson, died August 22, 2014, eight days before her 80th birthday. Katie was born in Indianapolis and graduated from Purdue University where she earned a bachelor's degree in Home Economics Education. She met her husband, Bob while attending Purdue and they were married for 58 years. During her earlier years Katie was an avid tennis player and later played golf. She enjoyed family, bridge, reading and beach time. She will always be remembered as a wonderful, loving mother and Nana to her daughters and grandchildren. Katie was a member of Chi Omega Sorority, P.E.O. Chapter BQ, and DAR. She is survived by her husband, Bob and daughters, Darli (Jason) Skaar and Karen (Don) Olson and grandchildren, Lyle, Evan and Gavin Skaar and Katie and Lauren Olson. She is also survived by her brother, Jim Ross and sister, Jane Ross. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church (Chapel), 1650 N. Paseo del Norte, Tucson with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the P.E.O. International Scholarship Fund @peointernational.org.
