Obituary of Helen Louise Elbert

Helen Louise Elbert November 4, 1927 - August 19, 2014 Born in Farmer City, IL to parents, Harry and Thelma (Trimble) Furtney, Helen passed away peacefully at home at the age of 86. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Leo; daughters, Marlena (Myles) Mooney and Mariann (Jim) Wolf and son, Mike (Shirley) Elbert; grandchildren, Drew (Erica) Mooney, Karen (Tully) Wyatt, Jamie Wolf (Aurelien Carre), Toni Elbert, Amanda Wolf and Jonathan Wolf; great-grandchildren, Hanna Wolf, Logan Demsey, Evan and Dylan Mooney, Claire and Thomas Wyatt and Emma Elbert; siblings, Mag Evans, Lois Short, Mary (Paul) Unzicker, Robert Furtney of IL and 15 Nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ivan Erke; infant son, Ivan, Jr.; siblings, Anne Coffin Fitzgerald, Geneva Masko, Katy Thorpe, Richard Furtney and two nephews. Helen retired after 30 years of civil service with the Air Force. A Rosary and Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
