Obituary of Wilbur H. Mowry

MOWRY, Wilbur H., was born June 13, 1923 in Garrett, IN and passed away peacefully at home on July 22, 2014. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 60 years, Florence (2006); one brother and three sisters. He is survived by his children, Diana (Ralph) Lucchesi, William (Snowden) Mowry, Steven (Kathy) Mowry, Barbara Hurst, Mary (Dennis) Fult, Margie (Dan) Willard, Teresa (Sam Montejano) Mowry and 16 grandchildren. Bill was a loving man who was respected by all who knew him. He was a proud WWII Army Veteran. He retired as a Captain from the police department in Goshen, Indiana. He and Florence moved to Tucson in 1978. He spent his retirement years enjoying his 23 great-grandchildren, and attending UofA softball, football and basketball games. His many friends knew him as a caring, thoughtful man, who loved spending time with them. Donations can be made to Casa de la Luz Foundation, 7740 N. Oracle Road, Tucson, AZ 85704.
