Obituary of Douglas Gene McDonald
Douglas Gene McDonald 85, of Tucson passed away June 30, 2014. Husband of Patricia Mae (nee Mazur) McDonald; father of Douglas (Joanne) McDonald, Jeffery McDonald, Patricia (Ted) Pate, Beverly (Keith) Hawks; grandfather of Steve (Beth) and Chad (Amy) McDonald, Bryan and John (Tiffany) Pate, Katelyn and Kyle Hawks; great-grandfather of Megan and Jenna, Connor and Jayden, Eli and Isaac; stepfather to Dale and Patrick Mazur; brother to Faye; uncle to Sandra and Tomy Shoon, David, Richard, Karen, Kathy, Kristi (nee Shelton). Preceded in death by father, Robert I. and Maude Perry McDonald; wife, Mary Frances (nee Shelton) McDonald and great-grandson, Tyler Scott Edgecombe. He served in the Army during the Korean War and worked at Hughes Aircraft Company for 32 years. He was the youngest in his family - born March 24, 1929 in Duncan, AZ. At the UofA he lettered in football in 1952 and 1953 and graduated as an Electrical Engineer. At Hughes he was known as "Big Mac" or "Gene". He was a friend to many and was a great father. Memorial Services are being held at Saint Paul's United Methodist Church, 8051 E Broadway Blvd., at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 24, 2014. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
