John was one of my English professors in the mid 1970s. It is now June, 2023 and I'm liviing in Montréal and reading s play by Brecht, and my old professor came to mind. I only wish I had thanked him before his death for the love of literature he gave me. I still remember all the works I studied under him: Rosencrantz & Guildenstern, Osborne, Albee, Shakespeare, Brecht, and I always think of him when I come across these works, and others. John was brilliant and inspirational.
