Obituary of Grace Bernice O'Brien

Grace Bernice O'Brien, 95, passed away May 9, 2014, in Tucson. She was the daughter of the late Timothy and Johanna Harrington. Survived by children, Francis Jr. (Joan), Timothy, Daniel (Susan), James (Jane), Barbara (Roger) Monthie, and Patricia (Ronald) Stoll; grandchildren, Timothy (Rhona), Robert (Laura), Michael (Young-ae), Valorii Abernathy, Chad (Kelly) Parker, Maureen (Jon) Laboy, Brian Monthie, Christine (Jerry) Myers, Corey (Kathy), Jennifer (Blake) Livingston, Katherine Stoll, Dennis, Karen (Ben) Carthew, and Kelli (Nicholas) Lehrling; great-grandchildren, Eion, Kathleen, Analicia, Mary Katherine, Michaela, Lane, Logan, Daniel, Caitlin, Carolyn Grace, Jerry, Erin, Max, Ian, Teagan, Garam, Jackie, Emma, Hansol, Olivia, Addison and Emma; sister, Mildred Hussey; four McGreevy daughters; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Francis Joseph O'Brien; and brothers, Gerald and Timothy. Grace was born October 4, 1918, in Newport, Rhode Island. She and Frank were married at St. Mary's Church in Newport on September 18, 1941. Grace was first and foremost a wife and mother, as well as a lifelong volunteer in schools and at church. She served as a Eucharistic Minister at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church for several decades. Friends may visit ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern, on Thursday, May 15, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church on Friday, May 16, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Hope Mausoleum. Donations may be made in Grace's memory to Adopt-a-Student at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic School, 1946 E. Lee Street, Tucson, AZ 85719.
