Obituary of Antoinette Fortunato
Antoinette Fortunato Born February 26, 1921, she went home to the Lord peacefully in her sleep on May 1, 2014. Toni was preceded in death by her son, Louis Jr.; and survived by her husband, Lou; son, Cliff; daughter-in-law, Denise; grandsons, Anthony, Joseph, Stephen; and many relatives. Toni was a very accomplished woman, serving as consultant to the school nurse teachers, and became a head nurse for the Bay Shore Public Schools on Long Island, NY, eventually retiring in 1973. She and Lou moved to Tucson to be with their children in 1980. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past August. They spent many nights dancing on cruises, making friends and dancing at the Elks Lodge in Tucson. Many thanks go to Emeritis on Tanque Verde for her care the past nine months and to Heartland Hospice; we are very grateful for their time and attention. A Celebration of life will be held at St. Pius X Church, 1800 N. Camino Pio Decimo, on Friday May 9, 2014, at 9:00 a.m., followed by her burial at All Faiths Memorial Park, 2151 S. Ave Los Reyes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) in memory of Toni. We love and miss you! Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
