Obituary of Theodore Avery Gillett

Theodore "Ted" Avery Gillett It is with heartfelt sadness that our father, Theodore "Ted" Avery Gillett, 88 years of age, passed peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2014. Ted was born in Canutillo, Texas, raised in Prescott, Arizona, and then attended Tucson High School. After graduating he enlisted in the Army, where he was famous for his knowledge of making homemade ice cream. He then established the best Ski Shop in the desert, the Gillett Ski Shop! Dad, you gave us wonderful ski trips, you taught us to camp, fish, hunt, and to live simply and with kindness. We could always rely on you; you were a handy man extraordinaire with a heart of gold. You will truly be missed. Ted is survived by his wife of 58 years, Audrey; three children, Marci (Steve) King, Lenor Gillett (Brian Harpel), Ted Gillett, Jr. (Debbie); and grandchildren, David (Cristina), Daniel and Kaitlin; great-granddaughter, Augustina; and a great-grandson on the way. Our family would like to thank the Trask Family and caregivers, who took such great care of him in his final months. Our Hospice nurse is truly an angel throughout this journey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent Casa de la Luz Hospice or Wounded Warriors. Private Service pending. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
