Obituary of Steve J. Sedor

Steve J. Sedor, Jr. On Saturday, April 12, 2014, Steve J. Sedor, Jr., peacefully passed away while surrounded by his loving children and grandchildren and was welcomed into the Everlasting Arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Julia Sedor, as well as his loving wife, Leonor Aguilar Sedor. Born in East Chicago, Indiana, February 1930, Steve lived a life of adventure and fullness. He joined the US Army Air Corps in 1946, and soon thereafter met and married his wife, "Lee." He was later stationed at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio; and then he was deployed overseas as a Medic in Japan during the Korean conflict. Returning stateside he continued his military service in Arizona, Alaska, Missouri, Utah, and again stationed at DM AFB in Tucson until his retirement in 1966. Steve obtained a B.A. degree in Education and two Master's degrees in Public Administration and Education at the University of Arizona. Steve was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge, American Legion, and Veterans' Administration. He and Lee served the community of St. Odilia's Catholic Church as Eucharistic ministers to local nursing homes until 2010. He is survived by children, Steve III (Janet), Maria (Juandedios) Lopez, Paul (Darlene), Chris (Karen) and Michael Sedor; and his brothers, Joseph, Edward (Jacquelyn) and Franklin (Judy) Sedor; and many dear grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dad's favorite verse was John 15:16, "You did not choose Me, but I have chosen you..." Often he would say, "It's just You and me, Lord." And so it is. Our Family wishes to thank the supportive Casa de la Luz Hospice for their kind and precious care of our Mother in 2011, and now our Father. Many thanks also go to the staff and community of the Inn at the Fountains in Tucson. Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held Saturday, May 3, 2014, at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave., Tucson, at 10:00 a.m., with St. Odilia clergy officiating.
