Obituary of Sandra Taylor Tapia

Sandra Taylor Tapia, 77, passed away on April 3, 2014, with her family at her side. Born March 7, 1937, in Timmins, Ontario, Canada, Sandy, a proud Canadian, started her life's journey traveling with her family to mining camps throughout Canada and Mexico. Strong and independent, Sandy learned to pilot a plane, spoke fluent Spanish (with a Canadian accent) and all but raised her younger siblings. Her greatest joy was being with family. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Margorie Taylor; sister, Phyllis; brothers, David and Glenn; and husband, Rudolfo Tapia; and is survived by daughters, Glenda (Kipp) Drake and Linda Tapia; grandchildren, Colin, Caitlin and Connor Drake; brothers, Guy (Mattie), Barry (Robyn), Michael and David (Glenna) Taylor; and sister, Carol Johnson, and numerous nephews, great-nephews and nieces. "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die." Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
