Obituary of Martha Massoud Masid
Martha Massoud Masid, beloved Mother and Grandmother, joined her Jesus on April 2, 2014, after a sudden heart attack. She was born April 25, 1925, in Kharaba, Syria, and came to the U.S. in 1948 with her late husband, Solomon Joseph Masid, and infant daughter. She was proud to earn her citizenship March 24, 1966. She was a loving mother and homemaker. Her six children, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren will miss her contagious laughter, wit and incredible cooking. Martha lived in Nebraska until 1985, when she moved to sunny Tucson. She grew wonderful fruit trees and flowers and tended them with as much love and care as she did her children. Martha was known for her crocheted blankets, whose warmth comforts all. Martha's entire life was devoted to raising, loving and praying over her children and grandchildren. She praised God for all things and shared her faith with everyone she met. She instilled in her children the belief of limitless accomplishment. Nothing is impossible as long as one works hard, studies hard, has faith, and gives praise and credit to the Lord for all things. Martha leaves on this earth her children, Susan Masid Kerss and husband, John (Des Moines, IA); Rosemary Beliveau and husband, Steve (Bellevue, NE); Sol Masid (Greeley, CO); Sarah McClure and husband, Robert (Marana, AZ); Esther Underwood and husband, Richard (Tucson, AZ); and Mariam Masid and husband, Tommy Moss (Windsor, CO). She was very proud of her grandchildren, Korin Kustarz, Derek Sanderson, Amos Underwood, Sarah Mieras, Michael Beliveau, Joshua Pharris, Madeline Bannister, and Mathew McClure; and great-grandchildren, Boston and Lincoln Sanderson, Mira and Maxine Kustarz, and Payten Mieras. Funeral Services are at Catalina Foothills Church, Monday, April 7, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel. Donations to UNHCR - Syrian refugees or Billy Graham Evangelistic Assn. TV Ministry.
