Obituary of Ben R. Konsynski
Ben R. Konsynski It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Ben R. Konsynski, 95, of Tucson, Arizona. He passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, March 1, 2014. He was born on May 26, 1918, to Ben Sr. and Martha Konsynski. Ben grew up in Hammond, Indiana. After high school, he attended DePaul University, where he received a degree in Music. The day after Pearl Harbor, Ben joined the Army Air Corps. During World War II, he flew a B24 Liberator in the European Theater. He was a recipient of the Silver Star and other awards for his gallantry in action. Ben had a passion for sailing, hiking and backpacking. We will miss his charm, his intellect, and his wit. He was a hero, a mentor, and a loving father. Ben is survived by his children, Lorna, Burma, Benn, David, and his grandchildren, Anastasia, Samara, Nova and Chase. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandy, and his beloved son, Dean. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
