Obituary of Douglas Gilbert Santander

Douglas Gilbert Santander, 91, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2014. He was preceded in death by his five sisters and three brothers, and son, Anthony. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of 67 years; his five children, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Douglas graduated from Tucson High School, was captain of the football team in 1942. After four years in the U.S. Coast Guard, he returned and attended the University of Arizona. After 35 years as a carpenter foreman, he retired from M.M. Sundt Construction Company in 1982. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, a Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m., followed by a mass at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Vincent de Paul of Southern Arizona.
