Obituary of Craig Charles Martin
Craig Charles Martin, our beloved husband and father, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on January 28, 2014, at the age of 67, never losing his courageous, humorous and loving spirit during his brave fight with cancer. Craig was born in Kewanee, Ill., on August 5, 1946 and,as a young man, served in the US Navy. He went on to become a dedicated employee of Tucson Newspapers, retiring after 40 years. In his leisure time, Craig enjoyed attending reunions with his fellow USS Ranger CV-61 shipmates, helping to organize reunions for his Rincon High School classmates, and loyally cheering on his Arizona Wildcats. Craig also enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, including his large family of in-laws, who will miss him dearly. He will be remembered by all as a great friend, caring brother, and loving uncle. Craig is reunited with his parents, Charles and Vivian, and survived by his wife, Janine; sons, Paul and Joel; daughter, Gwen (Vince) Boyd; and grandchildren, Brendon, Logan and Emma; his siblings, Sharlene (David) Steiner, Becky (Ed) Woosley, Charlie (Marcia) Martin, and Ted Martin; his nieces and nephews, Dawn Gutierrez, Sarah Gamble, Jen (Jay) Philips, Allison (Chris) Carson, Michael McAfee, and Jarrod Martin; and his eight grand-nephews and nieces. There will be a Celebration of his life on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at 4:30 p.m. at the ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave., Tucson, AZ, 85704.
