Obituary of Joan Mueller Quillman
Joan Mueller Quillman, a Tucson resident since 1979, died January 12, 2014. Born March 17, 1930, as an only child. Joan lived in the Chicago suburbs and on a farm as a child, where she developed a great love of animals, especially dogs and horses. An active horsewoman for most of her life, Joan volunteered for Therapeutic Riding of Tucson (TROT) for many years, and with Handi-Dogs. Joan is survived by her three daughters: Carol Q. Galper (Steve) and Janet Quillman (Mike Carreras) of Tucson and Susan Quillman (Jeff Field) of San Diego. She is also survived by her only two grandchildren, Cameron Price and Colin Price of Tucson. She was a very strong and practical person, who specifically requested no funeral. Joan asked that donations be made to animal charities and mentioned the Humane Society of Southern Arizona, The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, The Pima Animal Care Center, and TROT; but any animal care charity would meet her approval. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
