Obituary of Hugh F. Jefferies

Hugh F. Jefferies. On January 2, 2014,, Hugh F. Jefferies gave up his earthly fight to reunite with the love of his life, wife, Mary Ellen, after a 10-years' separation. Hugh was born in Winepeg, Manitoba, Canada, on September 11, 1919. After graduating high school in Idaho Falls, ID, Hugh served in the Army Air Core. Hugh began a retail career by helping his father in the first J.C. Penney Store in Idaho. He continued in the retail market and then became a Quality Control Manager for Best Western Hotels until he retired. Hugh and Mary Ellen spent their time between Best Western and their summer home in Idaho at Henry's Fork along the Snake River. After selling their cabin, he lived in Scottsdale and then moved to Tucson in 2000. Preceded in death by his brother, Joseph H. Jefferies, and sister, Mary Dennis. Hugh is survived by his son, Hugh F. Jefferies Jr., and daughter, Mary Margret Russell (Ned); grandchildren, Randy, Mike, Jennifer, Scott, Shauna, Denise and Carrie; 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Hugh was a proud, devoted man and valued the time he spent with his family. God has you in his keeping. We have you in our hearts. Visitation and Rosary will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Avenue at Magee Rd. Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at St. Odilia Catholic Church, 7570 N. Paseo Del Norte. There will be no service following mass.
