Obituary of Debra Kay McLean
Debra Kay McLean 56, passed away quietly in her home Thursday, November 21, 2013. She was born to Fred and Alice Gietz, August 2, 1957, in El Paso, Texas. Debbie married Dr. Wade McLean in Sedona, Arizona, in 2000; and they lived together both in Tucson and Pinetop. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred; and survived by her mother Alice. Debbie retired from Marana Unified School District in 2004, where she worked as the Community Relations Director. She was passionate about making a difference in the lives of those around her. Debbie loved to travel. She and her husband journeyed the world. She especially enjoyed her summers in Pinetop with friends and family. One of her favorite activities was hosting "Nana camp" each summer at her cabin in Pinetop, where she shared time with her grandchildren, doing crafts, baking, and playing outside. She was an avid Wildcat fan, spending Saturdays with her husband tailgating and enjoying friends and family at the games. Debbie is survived by her husband, Dr. Wade McLean; four children, Tamara Jamison (Bryan) and Jennifer Conroy (Ryan), of Phoenix, AZ, Kara Valacer (Steve) of LeGrande, OR, and Lisa Hubbard of Portland, OR. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Morgan, Kade, Kassidy, Lilly, Gavin, Evan, Mya, Max, and Carly. She will be missed deeply by all. A Memorial Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 55 W. Arrowsmith Drive, Oro Valley, 85755.
