Obituary of Nellie Wehrheim
WEHRHEIM, Nellie (Lichty), born May 8, 1915, in Clio, IA, passed away October 2, 2013. She was a graduate of Clio High School. She married Harry G. Lichty in March of 1934 and gave birth to three children. The family moved to Tucson in December of 1946, due to health issues. She worked at Levy's Dept. Store from 1950-1953 and worked as a real estate agent until 1963. She attended the U of A and graduated with a B.S. in Public Administration in 1967. She started working at the Department of Economic Security immediately and retired in 1980. Nellie sang in the choir at St. Cyril's for 31 years and had been singing in the choir at St. Pius X since then. She was Prefect of the Sodality at St. Cyril's in 1959 and also Organization and Development Chairman of the Tucson Deanery of Catholic Women from 1958 to 1961. She was preceded in death by husbands, Harry and Gerard; her mother and father; and three brothers. She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Wilson (Geo), Dolores La Bril (Richard) of Brazil; and son, Ronald (Mary) of California; also seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, five stepchildren, and nine step-grandchildren. A Visitation for Nellie will be held at 10:00 a.m., at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1800 N. Camino Pio Decimo, with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Holy Hope Cemetery.
