Obituary of Derek John Ottley

OTTLEY, Derek John, 86, born London, England, died Tucson, September 20, 2013. Survived by wife of 53 years, Elizabeth; sons, Alistair and David; and granddaughter, Kristyn. After graduating from Imperial College, London, B.SC. (first class honors), Derek later became Professor of Mineral Technology at Imperial. His career as a Metallurgist carried him to the four corners of the globe from Australia to Zimbabwe, working for the United Nations and as an Independent Minerals Technology Consultant. He authored 15 technical papers and published over 50 articles. Memorial Service to be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd., on Friday, September 27, 2013, at 2:00 p.m.
