Obituary of Miriam Wilson Bates

Miriam Wilson Bates, 85, of Tucson, Arizona died on April 19, 2024.  Miriam is survived by her husband of 68 years John.  She is also survived by her daughter, Lorraine (Michael) Rogge, her son Edward (Connie) Bates, Grandsons Shawn Barrett (Cecilia), Alex Rogge, and Great Grandson Zane Barrett. Miriam was born in San Diego and spent her elementary years as a resident of North Park.  She moved to Alpine, CA after seventh grade.  She was in the first graduating class of El Cajon Valley High School. She married John on March 25th, 1956.  Miriam attended Cuyamaca College.  Miriam had a long career with the County of San Diego.  She worked at the El Cajon Library, Social Services, Record Room and the Veteran's Office.  Miriam was a member of the Tennessee Squires.  Miriam loved to travel and visited Hawaii, England, and Ireland several times. Miriam also loved to read and liked cats.

A service will be held on Sunday, April 28th, at 2:00 pm at Adair Funeral Home located at 8090 N. Northern Ave., Oro Valley, AZ 85704. Internment will be at the Alpine Cemetery.
