Obituary of Shirley Joyce Pehlke
PEHLKE, Shirley Joyce Was born June 22, 1927 in Monona, Iowa. She was the daughter of Harold and Florence Kaiser Kingel. After receiving her degree, Shirley taught for four years in Iowa and 39 years in Tucson at two different schools. The retired teachers from Schumacher were called the old shoes. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gama Sorority. Shirley's husband, Gordon passed away in July of 2007. Shirley and Gordon had one child, Linda Pehlke Patronite and she died on February 21, 2006. Shirley is survived by two sisters-in-law, Laura Lee of Minoequa, Wisconsin and Lucille Pehlke of Merrill, Wisconsin and two brothers-in-law, Arnold Pehlke, McMinnville, Oregon and Leonard Pehlke and his wife, Jane of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Shirley had several nieces and nephews. Those closest to Shirley were Jeff and Debbie Pehlke, Richard and Penny Pehlke, Dean and Tracy Pehlke. While Shirley had many friends, Barbara Golden had been caring for Shirley in recent years. A Memorial Service for Shirley will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd., Tucson, AZ. Burial will be in East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Memorial Fund, in lieu of flowers, donation to Abiding Savior Free Lutheran Church
